Terms of Use

1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AKSTOOL ("we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the AKSTOOL website at akstool.com and all associated mobile applications and subdomains (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using any of our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you are using our Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of our Services immediately.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use AKSTOOL Services for any lawful personal, commercial, or educational purpose subject to the following restrictions. You must not:

• Use our Services to process, generate, or distribute illegal, harmful, defamatory, or discriminatory content.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any AKSTOOL application.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access our Services at rates exceeding normal human usage.
• Impersonate any person, company, or organisation.
• Resell access to our premium features without written authorisation.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features or rate limits.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or any software intended to damage or intercept data.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines without prior notice.

3. AI Features — Acceptable Use Policy

Several AKSTOOL products incorporate artificial intelligence features including, but not limited to, cat breed identification in KittyConnect AI and OCR/document processing in PDF Tools AI. By using these AI features, you agree to the following additional conditions:

• No adversarial inputs: You must not intentionally submit inputs designed to confuse, mislead, or degrade AI model performance.
• AI output is informational: AI-generated results (breed identification, document extraction, weather predictions) are provided for informational purposes only and should not be used as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
• Image rights: By submitting images to AI processing features, you confirm you own the image or have the rights necessary to process it.
• No training data extraction: You must not attempt to extract, reconstruct, or probe the underlying AI models.

4. Subscriptions and Premium Features

Certain AKSTOOL mobile applications offer optional premium subscriptions ("Premium") available via Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchases. The following terms apply to Premium subscriptions:

• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle, as selected at purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation stops future billing but does not provide a refund for the current billing period, except where required by applicable law.
• Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance with the option to cancel before the new price takes effect.
• Promotional pricing and trial periods are offered at our discretion and are limited to one per user account.

5. Marketplace Rules (KittyConnect AI)

KittyConnect AI includes a community marketplace for buying and selling cat-related products. If you use the marketplace, you additionally agree to:

• Only list items you legally own and have the right to sell.
• Provide accurate descriptions, condition assessments, and pricing.
• Not list prohibited items including live animals, counterfeit goods, or dangerous products.
• Complete transactions in good faith and as described in your listing.
• Resolve disputes through our in-app dispute resolution process before seeking external remedies.

AKSTOOL acts as a facilitator only and is not a party to transactions between marketplace users. We accept no liability for disputes between buyers and sellers.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability across all AKSTOOL Services. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance is carried out during off-peak hours and announced at least 24 hours in advance via our status page. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or service at any time with reasonable notice. Premium subscribers who experience extended outages (over 48 consecutive hours) may be eligible for pro-rata credit.

7. Intellectual Property

All AKSTOOL software, branding, design systems, written content, and AI models are the exclusive intellectual property of AKSTOOL or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our Services as intended. This licence does not permit you to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property without explicit written permission.

Content you create using our tools (QR codes, processed PDF outputs, etc.) remains your intellectual property. You grant us no rights over your output content.

8. Limitations of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AKSTOOL, its directors, employees, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use our Services. Our total liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability — in such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by that jurisdiction's law.

9. Open Source Components

AKSTOOL applications are built using open source libraries. A full list of open source components and their applicable licences is available in each application's Settings → About → Open Source Licences screen. These licences are included in compliance with the respective open source community standards and do not affect your licence to use the AKSTOOL application itself.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time via the in-app account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms. In cases of serious or repeated violations, termination is immediate and without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately and we will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Product-Specific Rules

QR Scanner AI

You may use QR Scanner AI to scan publicly accessible QR codes. You must not use the app to scan codes on property you do not have permission to access, or to facilitate unauthorised entry to any system or premises.

PDF Tools AI

You may only upload PDF files that you own or have explicit permission to process. Do not upload documents containing confidential third-party data without appropriate authorisation. We process documents over encrypted connections and delete all uploaded files within 60 seconds.

UK Weather

Weather data is provided for informational purposes only. Do not rely solely on UK Weather forecasts for safety-critical decisions such as aviation, maritime operations, or emergency planning.

KittyConnect AI

The AI breed scanner is an identification tool and is not a veterinary diagnostic service. Do not make medical decisions for your pet based solely on AI breed identification results. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for health concerns.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer in another jurisdiction entitled to the protection of your local consumer laws.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the application and/or sending an email to registered users at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
